It lets you either sync all your files and folders on your OneDrive, or choose specific folders to sync, making them available locally.

OneDrive has a feature called selective sync. Of course, you can limit what folders you want to sync in Windows 10.

You’ll need to update the Windows user permissions to the new OneDrive folder that used to exist on the old folder, or else that folder will be viewable by everyone who uses the machine. Once you move the OneDrive folder to a new location, it inherits the folder permissions of the parent folder (or drive if the OneDrive folder is placed at the root directory). Instead of accepting this suggested location, click “Change”, navigate to the folder you selected for OneDrive and select “OK”. When you sign in, OneDrive will ask you where you want to save folders to with a suggested location (your User folder) already selected. First of all visit the path: C:UsersUser, and. Now if you want to change this default folder location you basically have to follow the same steps like I have already explained above for the screenshot folder. Go back to the OneDrive set-up screen, select “Get started,” and sign into OneDrive again. By default the OneDrive Folder is also located on your system harddrive, you can find it by following this file path: C:UsersUser. Click on the “Home” tab in the explorer ribbon and select “Move to > Choose location.” Choose the folder location (it can be an external hard too, but you have to keep the drive plugged in all the time, which is not practical) where you need to save your OneDrive files in the future. In a lot of cases the SD card directory will be something like “storage/0123-4567/,” so if you see that as a save location on your device, go for it! Confusingly, the directory “/sdcard/” is, on my HTC One M8 at least, actually the directory for my internal storage.Open File Explorer and navigate to the OneDrive folder (usually in C:\Users\\OneDrive) and select it.

Hint: Most Android devices don’t make the directory of your SD card very clear. Search for OneDrive, and click the top result to open the experience.

That means that “Moving” the app to your SD card won’t really work, and you’ll need to look in the apps individually to set the locations where they store files. Just about all apps that create media files – such as your phone’s built-in camera app, podcast apps and voice recorders – will feature internal options to change the location where you want to save your podcasts, photos, recordings, whatever. If the number here is significantly smaller than the app’s size in the app list, then you know that your phone hasn’t moved all the data from your app, and you’ll need to find alternative solutions. Select Advanced storage settings, then select Where new content is saved. Click on the Start m enu (Windows icon) and select Settings (Gear icon). Step 4: More options, locate the option of settings, and click on it. Step 3: In the list, select the option of more. Use the steps below to change the default folder locations in Windows 11. Step 2: In the main menu of windows, in the taskbar, select OneDrive.

Once the app’s “moved,” go to the App info screen again, and under “Storage” you’ll be able to see how much of its total size it’s keeping in the External storage. This can cause your drive to fill up with data and reduce the free space on that drive.
